Yap, as the title says, my honeymoon at work is over. And that took me a long time. Now, I no longer am soft and lenient, instead, I am learning to be tough and not allowing any monkey business in my classes any more. I find that being a young female teacher facing groups of teenage boys can really be a hurdle. However, this is the first main thing I'm working towards in my career. I think I'm starting to develop some sort of strategies now to set the tone for each class I teach as well as supply.
What still gets me the most, at this point into Term 1, the CFL idiv boys are still pissing me off. It's so easy for them to ruin my good mood in a whole day but just being absolute RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL in every way possible. All the afternoon hours I spent in there feels like a waste of times for me most of the time. Even though there were a few good sessions, but compared to the majority, I worry that they are getting nothing done and their grades continue to drop.
Anyways, those problems are there to be solved. This will be a tough challenge.
We just had our house Christmas Party, it was fun :) I got all boys and faculty to sing the song I wrote to Owen. He was blushing and I think he enjoyed it. Tomorrow will be the staff Christmas Party. It'll be fun I hope!
Well that's it for now!.
